My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats or dogs.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.A volunteer writes: With the utmost sincerity, Buddy sits at the front of his condo and tries to invite people over. What to do when they accept seems to have him a little stumped, but it's the effort. The first time I met Buddy, he came bursting out of his den and then wanted me to watch him eat dinner. Eating on an entirely self imposed deadline, it was a very creative interpretation of dinner theater. Buddy was found on his own looking a little worse for wear and has been learning how to make friends in his own time. I know Buddy will often come racing forward and is excited to lean his big fluffy cheeks into my hand. I also know that after his splashy introduction, he'll usually take a step back to think about things. Buddy's FIV+ and known to be a friendly and talkative kitty. He's hoping to find a patient family who will love and appreciate his style. My Foster wrote: Buddy is a lovebug who just needs a little patience to prove it toyou. He's a sleepy guy who will take his time to get to knoweveryone, but once he does, he'll be asking for head pets andpurring nonstop. He's quirky and always looks so cozy, and willeven wink at me! (He has a little condition that makes hisblinking hilariously adorable.) His favorite pasttime is makingyou watch him eat as fast as he can - truly, he'll only do it rightwhen you come in to visit him - he'll sprint to his bowl andstarting eating like his life depends on it. Then he'll purr and curlup near you on the couch, just looking for some gentle andpatient attention. He'll be clear about where he does and doesn'twant to be pet, and he makes a perfect and adorablecompanion!! Primary Color: Orange Tabby Weight: 11.4 Age: 5yrs 5mths 2wks
