Hellooo West Coast friends! My name is HUN and here is some info about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Jindo mix Age: 3 years (est. birth: Nov 2021) Gender: Male Weight: 44 lbs (20 kg) Height: 73 cm (paws to top of my head) Length: 83 cm (head to butt) Current Location: S. KOREA RESCUE STORY - I was one of nine siblings found abandoned in the mountains when I was just a 2-month-old puppy and taken to a high-kill city shelter, where I was thankfully rescued just in time from euthanasia. After spending two weeks in a temporary foster home, I moved to the local private shelter, where I’ve been living ever since. Despite my challenging start, they say I have grown into a beautiful and gentle soul, patiently waiting for my forever home! TEMPERAMENT - I’m a friendly and gentle pup who gets along with everyone, whether it's a new volunteer or an adult male, without any wariness (video). I am a super sweet, handsome boy (video). I enjoy being petted and have an easygoing personality. I may not seem overly affectionate at first, but when I see familiar regular volunteers, I excitedly jump up to show my love! If you are looking for a loyal furry companion to build trust with, I would be a great fit! And surprisingly, the volunteers say that I am probably one of the calmest dogs in terms of car rides despite my limited experience of cars (video). I am so ready for exciting adventures with my future family! ENERGY LEVEL - Medium to High – I tend to be more active and playful around familiar people while staying calm in new environments. Same with all doggos, I need an appropriate amount of mental and physical exercise in order to be my best self! GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown. same with ALL dogs, I should be supervised around children. My humans need to advocate for my space and make sure I'm respected :) Dogs – Yes! Very good and playful while living with many dog friends. I am a perfect gentleman when meeting new dogs (video here). I prefer to take things slowly to get to know another dog, so please make a slow introduction if adopted into a multi-dog home. Check out more videos here and here. Cats – Unknown. PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits/cats etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – Good! I enjoy regular walks with volunteers and have made great progress. I am very comfortable and gentle on a leash! However, I’m not yet familiar with climbing stairs, so I’ll need more experience walking in different environments! Here are some videos of me on leash (video, video2, video3, video 4) House trained – Work in progress. The rescue team is confident I’ll pick up house training quickly, but since I’ve never experienced life in a home, I will need some time to adjust. Crate trained – Not yet. I will need some training and patience with this. Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records. I am on monthly Heartworm and Flea/Tick prevention and will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada. NOTE: I have a very skinny body shape, but I eat well and am a healthy pup overall! I may look underweight, but the vet says I'm just very lean. I will have dental cleaning, if necessary, before flying to Canada. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax ($750 + 5% GST and 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and its adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live. WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates. ##2311261##
