My story

Welcome Cactus!Cactus is a shy boy who made the long journey from Quebec in hopes of finding his forever home. Don’t be fooled by the name, he is anything but prickly! ABOUT CACTUS:-In foster-Young adult, domestic shorthair, male-Cactus is famous at the shelter for his chubby cheeks and “toupee”!-Cactus is a skittish cat who has had minimal experience with humans.-Cactus prefers a slower approach when getting to know people. He may let out an initial hiss, but he quickly warms up if you sit with him. -Cactus loves treats! After many taste-tests his favorites are Churu tubes and Temptations, though he’s always prepared to try something new!-Cactus’s favorite toy to play with is his wand toy.-Fast movements and loud noises make him nervous. He prefers a gentle approach.-Cactus is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people.-Some skittish cats may remain reserved, while others may express their trust and affection in a variety of ways. -Cactus is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations. CACTUS’S IDEAL HOME:-A skittish cat will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children.-Cactus should be the only cat in the home. -Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Cactus settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Cactus with a successful transition to his forever home.If you think this gentle boy is a match for you, apply to adopt Cactus today! If you have any questions about Cactus or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Cactus, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
