My story

Meet Lionel!This lean and handsome gentleman has eyes that will show you what love is—just look closely and you’ll find flecks of blue in one eye, like a little reminder of how you sparkle to him.Lionel is currently a bit overwhelmed by the shelter environment. While he can appear hyperactive in his kennel, don’t be fooled—outside of that setting, he reveals his true personality: active yet balanced, curious, playful, and perfectly content to lounge after a good adventure. He enjoys exploring his surroundings and has a soft spot for toys.Thanks to our dedicated staff, Lionel has made great progress with his leash manners and other areas he’s working on. He generally walks beautifully, though he may still struggle a bit when passing too many dogs in a high-energy setting. Continued guidance and consistency will help him thrive.Lionel has met other dogs and seems to do best with friendly, well-socialized females. An ideal home for him would have one or two tolerant dogs who can model positive behavior. With proper introductions, integration and structure, Lionel will have the best chance at long-term success. He would also be more than happy to be your one and only.Sweet and affectionate, Lionel’s love is both heartfelt and gentle—though it may come on with a burst of excitement at first! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who’s ready to grow with you, Lionel just might be your perfect match.
