My story

Martha, Martha, Martha! What can we say about this sweet chonky girl? Martha is a very special girl and will need to be adopted into a very special family. You see, this little lady is a special needs girl. Her year in rescue has revealed that Martha has terrible skin allergies, a heart birth defect, and a blood clotting disorder. Now, this is not to say that she will not be able to bring lots of love and joy to her forever home, for many years. Her conditions will just need to be monitored. Martha was allergy-tested and found to be allergic to many things. She received allergy shots, and now just needs one shot a week. She responded amazingly well to the shots, and it is unknown how long she will need them, so her adopter will need to agree to continue with them. Her heart birth defect requires her to take medication once a day and will need to be continued throughout the rest of her life. She does not know she has anything wrong with her heart, so let’s not tell her! The blood clotting disorder would only become a problem if Martha were to need surgery, and steps could be taken to ensure her safety.
