My story

Please allow me to introduce you to Houser. This handsome boy mysteriously showed up in our backyard one year ago in late February of 2024. He clearly had been an outside dog as he was very timid about coming indoors but after a few months we were able to coax him inside and now he is the perfect indoor/outdoor dog. He has a very calm and curious personality and has NEVER shown any type of aggression towards any adults or children living in our home or those who visit as guests. He also is a gentleman in that he also has never jumped up on anyone ever. And don't let looks deceive you: he may look vicious but he is absolutely the sweetest boy you could hope to find. We have 2 cats and a large dog whom he lives harmoniously alongside. He does like to bark at our neighbor's cats when he sees them in their backyard, but not in an aggressive fashion (it's more along the lines of a "Hey! Come play with me!" bark.) He was apparently house trained before he came to us and has never had an accident in our home. He is very loyal and loves to stay at your side. We have taught him "sit" and I believe with some consistent training he can be taught basic obedience commands easily and quickly. We have fostered him in hopes of re-homing him to someone we knew or to a "friend of a friend" over the past year (we want to know he goes to a good, loving home and didn't want to just "put him into the system") but to no avail. With the animals we already have and our busy schedules we simply cannot keep him any longer. So, if you are looking for a calm, reserved, and well-mannered dog to give a loving home and make a part of your family, look no further because Houser is perfect for the job.
