My story

Meet Maverick.... He is not a full Mastiff. He is a Boerboel but that breed unfortunately isn't an option on AdoptApet.. This breed is like a unicorn in rescue or re-homing situation. Boerboels are a mix of a Mastiff and Bulldog. Maverick came in as a stray from a SC animal shelter. I almost fell on the floor when I saw his pic and info. I immediately contacted the shelter and set up transport the minute his stray hold was up. Maverick is 1.5 years old. Currently weighing 127 pounds ( which is small for a male Boerboel ). This breed can get to 150 - 200 pounds for a male. He is being fostered with 4 cats and a 100 pound Rottweiler. He does well with the Rottweiler ( but she hates him) He is a big lap dog. Maverick does not pull on leash, if u stop walking, he stops. Maverick will sit and give paw on command. He listens so well.. This guy is a dream.... Maverick would do best in a home without other dogs or cats. He is very connected to people and will do better with a family that is home more than at work. Please do research before applying. We are looking for potential adopters with LARGE breed dogs experience, and a secure fenced yard. We will not be placing him in a home with super young kids just due to his size.
