Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA & OR, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle or cash. We no longer accept PayPal due to their fees they charge the rescue. But if the potential adopter is willing to pay the PayPal fees & charges we will accept PayPal. Maverick is so incredibly lucky to be alive. His mum who we had in the rescue & rescued from death a Blue healer was pregnant in a high kill shelter in CA & was going to be euthanized heavily pregnant because no one was coming to help her. Well we did & she gave birth to 7 puppies, but unfortunately 1 went to heaven. Maverick was one of the remaining 6 babies. They were all loved & looked after in a foster home in CA & once he & is siblings were old enough they came back to WA & now Maverick is looking for a forever home & a wonderful family to love him. Maverick is such a lovely natured little lad but would need to build his confidence with new people but is a soft gentle soul. He is very shy at first until he knows you. In the rescue we all love this boy so much as he is so loyal & loving once he knows you. He gets along so well with other dogs & will play with other dogs & he could be the king of his new house too if he got all the attention. He will also want to sleep in the bed with you & adores throwing himself around in comfy blankets. When he is comfortable his tail does not stop wagging. He also adores being close to people once you have built that bond with him. At our vets he was uncertain. We also put Maverick into a daycare to socialize him with all different dog personalities & he has done well. In CA he also enjoyed laying out in the sun & relaxing. Maverick has been great with his baths because he started having them with us in his loving foster home the moment he was able to so he is used to them. He loves both men & woman once he knows them. Maverick is a big eater & absolutely loves his food. He is not shy about eating at all. Maverick rode well in the car & enjoys a good journey once he knows & trusts you & feels comfortable. We have had him in the car a couple of times teaching him car rides are a good thing. He still needs continued work walking on his harness & leash. We are looking for a forever home for Maverick where someone is home during the day or he can go with his people wherever possibly he can go with them. Maverick is looking for a forever home who will cherish him & love him as he should be loved & be patient with him. Maverick has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & he is currently with other dogs & was fostered in CA with other dogs & does well with them & enjoys their company. A fenced backyard is mandatory for Maverick if it’s a free standing dwelling. Maverick is roughly just 3 years old & 43 lbs & is perhaps a Blue healer & what he is mixed with we are not sure at all. He is male, he is neutered by our wonderful vets & he is microchipped. He has had a full dental, had his shots, including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, dewormed. Once these shots expire we do not redo them except for rabies as we do not over vaccinate our dogs. Maverick has been around cats since being in the rescue in his foster home in CA & did well with the cat in the foster home but doesn’t mean he will do well with all cats. But it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals together. We have not had him around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children. We were not there when Maverick was conceived so we do not know who his dad is but know who his mum is & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think his breed is. As with all of our rescues & Maverick’s friends he will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Maverick potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Maverick & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Maverick who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this sweet boy. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. We have spent so much more money on Morgan than his adoption fee even comes close to covering. Maverick has an adoption fee of $450 & is ready for his truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what he has been through.
