Henry

My story

From my foster: My name is Henry, but Mama calls me Shadow. I was picked up from the streets of Golden Meadow, but the shelter there was closing so my foster Mama took me and my stepbrother, Handsome. When I first got to my foster home, I was terrified. Whenever anyone, including Mama, would touch me, my whole body would shiver, and I wouldn`t eat for four days. Then I started realizing that when Mama touched me it wasn`t so bad, and it actually felt kind of good. Now, when Mama walks in the room, I run to meet her. I even roll over on my back and let her rub my belly, but my stepbrother is always pushing me away and seeking all the attention. My favorite thing to do these days is sit in the window and watch the birds and dream about how hard my life used to be. But Mama says I`m safe now, and I will never have to be hungry or cold again. I hope my new family will understand me and love me like my Mama.
