Meet Annabelle — A Soul Ready for Home 💔🐾 Annabelle’s story is one that stays with you. For more than eight long years, she lived at the end of a chain, tied to a tree after her family moved away and left her behind. She survived with only a worn-out doghouse and the kindness of a neighbor who brought her food and straw. But survival isn’t the same as living. When Annabelle came to Castoff, she received her first soft bed, her first warm, dry place to rest. In return, she gave us something unforgettable — her heart. She met this new life with a wagging tail, gentle eyes, and a quiet gratitude that speaks volumes. Now, she’s in a temporary foster home, finishing her heartworm treatment, which ends in August. But her foster can’t keep her, and we are desperate to keep her from returning to the shelter. She’s an older gal, often overlooked, but she’s also the dog who most deserves to know what it feels like to be loved forever. Annabelle doesn’t ask for much. A cozy spot to nap, a kind hand to pet her, maybe a treat or two. She is affectionate, easygoing, and so deeply grateful for every kind word and gentle touch. Her past was rough, but her heart is tender. She has chosen joy, forgiveness, and love. Let her story end the way it should — not with another kennel, but with a home.
