My story

Hello! My name is Essen!I`m a big sweetheart and always start my day with snuggles in bed with foster mom! I love sniffing on walks and burn a lot of brain energy that way! Loose something? I can probably sniff it out with my nose! I do seem to have a strong prey drive, and know where all the neighborhood rabbits live, in case you need to find them. I do well being left alone for periods of time and am crate trained. I am friendly meeting new people. Some odd things cause me to be nervous like leaf blowers and vacuum cleaners but my foster mom is doing a pretty good job showing me that these things aren`t actually anything to be scared of!MY IDEAL HOME INVOLVES…CHILDREN: Teenagers should be ok. Young children wouldn`t be ideal as I can be sensitive to too much commotion. OTHER DOGS: Potentially, while I may bark at them on leash, I seem to enjoy playing with some dogs off leash. CATS: No, due to my prey drive.FIRST-TIME DOG OWNERS: No, I would do best in a home that has dog experience.FENCED-IN YARD: Highly recommended.HOUSING ENVIRONMENT: No apartment buildings as I don`t love when dogs come into my personal bubble on leash.SOMEONE HOME MOST OF THE DAY: Not necessarily. I do well home alone.SOME OTHER THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT ME…ACTIVITY LEVEL: Medium.HOUSE-TRAINED: Yes, but expect some accidents as I settle into a new routine. If you think I could be a good match for your home, click the “Adopt Me” button to apply!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Essen, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
