My story

*Thora: From Playful Explorer to Snuggle Bug Supreme* This gorgeous girl is Thora. She’s a Shepherd mix weighing about 30lbs and she’s approx.7 months old. She is the perfect size for hugs, adventures, and being your official "shadow” dog.After being rescued from an abusive situation in El Paso, Texas, she is thriving in her foster home in Milwaukee where she can just relax and be the fun-loving, affectionate pup she was meant to be! She may have had a rough start to life, but you wouldn’t know it! She wants to make friends with everyone she meets and cannot get enough pets. Thora is a special girl with a heart of gold. She's sweet, playful, and definitely a "Velcro dog" – she'll follow you everywhere you go! She loves everyone and her toys make her do the happy dance. Fetch, tug-of-war, and chewing on her toy bones are her favorite pastimes. She's always up for a good play session. Her energy level is typical for a puppy but she also knows how to chill out for the night and cuddle like a pro. Thora would thrive in a home with kids and other doggie pals to keep her entertained and stimulated (she's a social butterfly at heart!). Thora is one smart cookie and learns new things fast! She only had two accidents in her foster home before she was fully potty trained. That is quite impressive considering she was just four months old at the time. As long as she sticks to her potty schedule, accidents are no issue. She’ll let you know when she needs a potty break by giving a whimper. Just like any puppy, she needs supervision outside and around small objects - everything goes in the mouth! She listens well on walks and is learning to ignore other dogs with a little reassurance from her human. But she’s very interested in new objects so her humans need to be alert of what might be lying in the grass. She is trainable and knows her basic commands - Sit, Come, No, Ignore, etc. Thora is obedient, eager to please, and responds best to positive reinforcement - she loves making her humans happy! Thora is up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed.
