My story

Hey there, I’m Felix! According to my foster parents, I am too smart for my own good sometimes. Not sure what they mean by that, but I take it to mean that I’m a fast learner! In just a few short weeks, I’ve learned several commands (sit, wait, shake, and down) and learning to potty outside was a piece of cake. Speaking of cake, I am processing some of my previous trauma and working through some resource guarding tendencies with my food. It will take some time for me to understand that I no longer have to worry about where my next meal comes from, but I'm working on it! I have a lot of energy and am looking for an energetic family. When it comes to other dogs, I am dog-selective. I love playing with my foster sibling (a female Labradoodle), but need to feel others out before I am good to go. I enjoy routine and my crate (believe it or not!) as it allows me to calm down and settle. If you are looking for a smart, energetic boy - I'd love to meet you! Come meet our adoptable dogs on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in the backyard at AARF's new location- 302 Thurston St, W-S. Go to AARFWS.org to view and apply for our AARF dogs. Information about the process is available on our website. Remember that we do not adopt more than a 45-minute radius from our facility in Winston Salem.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Felix, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
