Name: Logan Best Guess for Breed: Shepherd and Lab mix Best Guess for Age: 1.5 years as of Apr 2025 Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 31 lbs Gets Along With: Logan lives with another dog in his foster home. We haven’t seen Logan with kids or cats. We are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living At: DC area foster home. Logan is Looking For: Introducing Logan, a little bundle of joy with a tan and white coat and a dashing touch of black around his muzzle! Logan hails from Louisiana, where he’s been dreaming of finding a family to call his own. This little guy is as charming as they come—whether it’s snuggling up for quiet moments or tagging along on your next adventure, Logan is ready to be your new best friend. His size makes him perfect for any home, and his heart is full of love to share. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a dash of Southern charm, Logan is the one for you! What My Foster Says About Me: Logan is a sweet, curious, sassy, snuggly boy. He has fully leaned into our routine. He loves to cuddle on the couch in the evenings and sleeps very well in his crate overnight. He even puts himself to bed if he's ready to turn in for the night. He is good in the crate during the day if everyone has to be gone but he has also done well staying loose on the main floor with his foster siblings for short periods. He barks occasionally in the crate, usually right after you leave if it's daytime or if he needs to go potty. He's learned to use bells at the back door. He loves loves LOVES playing with his foster siblings. Whether that's wrestling, playing tug with toys, or playing zoom/tag. He matches play styles very well. He loves to play with toys and is great at self-entertaining with puzzle toys, rope toys, squeaky toys, or chew toys. He chases down toys and pounces on them like a bunny and then tosses them for himself to catch. It truly is the cutest thing to watch. He is getting more and more confident on walks and at adoption events. He greets me at the end of events when I come pick him up with full body wiggles and kisses. He also recently started daycare to get him some out of home confidence building time. He loves the other dogs and loves to try to play with new friends. The staff already love him. Medical: Logan was heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Logan has completed the treatment and activity restriction phases and is now awaiting his six month follow up test. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
