Ori was abandoned in a park with her three puppies. Luckily, the puppies were already weaned when they came to rescue, so Ori is now in a foster home living her best life until she finds her permanent family. Ori is a little timid at first, but warms up quickly. She loves to play with a good squeaky and her human fosters She seems to get along with other dogs well in her foster home. If you are looking for a sweet chihuahua, Ori could be your girl! From Ori's Foster Mom:Ori is a 9 1/2 pound fireball. She loves chasing balls, shaking her fluffies, snuggling with me, and treats! Ori gets along great with other dogs and would likely enjoy another small dog to play with. Ori has not been exposed to strangers, different places, etc. , so she is nervous about being out and about. She will bark and run from new people in my home, but once they sit down, she mostly avoids them. Ori is very ORAL, meaning she will tug on loose clothing with her teeth and tries to play with hands with her teeth. While we are working on extinguishing those behaviors, I think she would be best placed in a home without small children. She will also de-stuff toys, shred paper and do her best to drag my giant shoes around the house. She really is more puppy than dog - she was a just a baby herself when she had her puppies! She IS housebroken and crate trained. She eats in her crate and sleeps in her crate overnight. She also goes there for comfort, so I think a crate is a must for her even if she is never locked in it. Dont let the short coat fool you: she sheds. Ori is a lovely, lively dog who will make a wonderful companion. She needs someone to help her build her confidence. She does NOT need anyone who is going to raise their voice or use any physical corrections/punishment. A soft no or eh is enough to stop her behavior so it can be redirected. She responds well to verbal praise and treats and pets.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Ori, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
