Meet Levi – the Sweetest Little Songbird 📍 Located in Decatur, IL 💻 Applications at leiashope.org Levi is doing awesome in his foster home and continues to charm everyone he meets! This wire-coated Dachshund is a happy, affectionate boy who loves to snuggle, get belly rubs, and sleep in the big bed like a true prince. He’s always up for playtime and especially enjoys running around outside with another foster pup. He’s a great eater and such a joyful, easy-going companion. Levi is a former puppy mill dog, but he has blossomed into a confident and loving little guy. He has a voice and isn’t afraid to sing for his supper—but his foster family is working to keep his excitement barking in check. He’s sensitive and thrives on praise and encouragement, always eager to be told he’s a good boy. Levi was born with a congenital eye condition that leaves his right pupil permanently dilated. His eyes have improved significantly, and he no longer requires daily eye drops—only occasional use if his eyes appear dry. He naturally squints to minimize light, and while doggy sunglasses can help, he’s usually too fast to catch when he’s out with the pack! A playmate is highly preferred—whether it’s another young playful dog or children who want to engage with him. This guy loves to play and would thrive in an active, involved home. 📝 Requirements: Secure physical fenced yard (Levi is still working on leash walking and needs safe outdoor space.) 🐾 Levi is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations, and on monthly heartworm and flea prevention. 💲 Adoption fee: $400 Please Note: Leia’s Hope is a volunteer-run rescue. Please allow 7–10 business days for application processing. Approved applications are required before meet and greets. All family members and current pets must be present. We do adopt out of area but do not provide shipping or transportation. Adopters must travel to the dog’s location. Dogs are a lifetime commitment.
