My story

Meet Hyunmi, a 6-month-old brown Jindo mix with a gentle heart and a curious spirit! Born on August 1, 2023, in a shelter after her mom, Mimi, was rescued while pregnant, Hyunmi has been raised with love and is now searching for her forever home. She currently weighs 8.5kg and has already been spayed. Hyunmi can be a little shy at first, especially with new people. She may hesitate when someone reaches out to her, but with a little patience and time to sniff and observe, she warms up and allows pets. Once she trusts you, she’s incredibly affectionate and loves being held and cuddled. She does well with children but may startle at sudden movements or loud noises. That said, she is comfortable being picked up and carried. With other dogs, Hyunmi is very social and enjoys making new friends. She is especially fond of dogs her own size but can feel a bit nervous around larger dogs at first. If a big dog gets too close, she might hide behind her person, but given some time to adjust, she often joins in the fun. Hyunmi has also lived with a cat in her foster home for three months and gets along well with feline friends. Her energy level is moderate—she loves outdoor adventures but is also happy to rest calmly afterward. While inside, she enjoys chewing on toys and playing quietly. On walks, Hyunmi used to pull on the leash, but she has recently improved and now walks nicely alongside her handler. She is eager to follow her person and enjoys exploring the world. When it comes to food, Hyunmi has no issues with people near her while she eats, but she may growl softly if another dog tries to take her food—just a small warning, nothing more. She has no separation anxiety with humans but does feel a bit uneasy when separated from her sibling, Heokmi, as they have never been apart. If Heokmi isn’t around, she may whimper and seem a little unsettled. Hyunmi is generally very quiet and rarely barks, though she might let out a few excited barks when her foster family comes home or in response to loud noises. She is comfortable getting in and out of cars on her own and remains calm when riding in a crate. She primarily potties outside. With her gentle nature, loving personality, and eagerness to bond, Hyunmi is a wonderful companion looking for a home that will give her the time and love she deserves.
