My story

Dusse was heartbroken the day we met her. And we get it. This place is big and loud, and she went from having a home to suddenly not. But this sweet girl is coming around, and we couldn’t be happier to see her shine. She’s incredibly loving, and we’ve even spotted a few zoomies lately—a sure sign that she’s starting to feel like herself again. That’s all we ever hope for. That these dogs can adjust, find comfort, and feel love again. Dusse is quickly becoming a crowd favorite. She just loves being close to us and we’re just as happy to be close to her. Western Ave. Chicago, IL *The building is open 12-7 daily and adoptions end one hour before closing. All visitors 18 and older must have a government issued ID. *All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers). We recommend and can arrange dog to dog meet and greets for your current dog to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up to date rabies vaccination for your dog or dogs. *Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
