My story

🐾 Hey, gurrlfuriends, let’s give a warm welcome to Nora! 🐾 This 12.5-year-old dilute tortie has been through a lot, but she’s ready to find her furever home! Nora came to Scruffy Paws several months ago after a call from Ocean State Vet Specialists (OSVS) about a cat in desperate need of help. A kindhearted Good Samaritan had been feeding a managed cat colony when Nora appeared, clearly not a typical colony cat. Thankfully, they brought her to OSVS, where Dr. Elias discovered she was suffering from pyometra—a life-threatening uterine infection that only affects unspayed females. Surgery was immediately needed to save her life. At 12 years old, a hefty 16 lbs., with smooth paw pads and a friendly personality, it was clear that Nora must have belonged to someone at some point. But no one came forward for her. 💖 Fast-forward to today—Nora is happy, healthy, and living her best life! 💖 Miss Nora is still quite the foodie (as her adorable love handles will tell you!), and she isn’t afraid to speak her mind—especially when she wants something. We love a confident queen! As an older gal, she sometimes gets flaky, dry skin, but a little fish oil supplement keeps her coat glowing and gorgeous. ✨ What Nora Needs in a Home: 🐾 Only pet status—she prefers to be the queen of her castle. 🐾 Older, respectful kids would be best, as she can get a bit overstimulated with too much attention. 🐾 A family who will shower her with love and, of course, keep her well-fed! Nora has been through so much and deserves a soft place to land. Could that be with you? Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. The bio is the best place to find the most current and important information about their needs, personality, and ideal home. Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If this post is still up, we are still accepting applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). There's no need to email us about availability, just submit an application if you're interested! For more information about our adoption process, please visit our website: https://scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/about-adoption/ All adoption fees include: - Spay/neuter surgery Adoption Process - Microchip - Rabies and distemper vaccinations - Proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing - Flea treatment & deworming - A veterinary exam Please Note: Scruffy Paws operates by appointment only and is not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are in foster homes, so for the safety of our fosters and adopters, an approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet-and-greet. Ready to apply?
