My story

Meet Dakota (formerly known as Mabel), our friend with City of Raytown Animal Services. She's looking for her soul mate for the next 12-plus years—is that with you? She's a happy and playful four- to six-month-old lab mix puppy with lots of love to give! Dakota was adopted about a month ago by a great family. They love her to pieces and we've learned how amazing Dakota is in a home! We've also learned, however, that Dakota would do best in a home without cats or small dogs, which means Dakota's looking for a new place to hang her leash. This makes us super sad, but we know the right family is out there for her. Here's the good news: Dakota is a puppy gem. She's cuddly and sweet and wants to be with her people. If you're agreeable, she'll even sleep in bed with you, but a big fluffy dog bed is also an option. In the evenings, Dakota will happily help you read a book or catch a movie on the couch or by herself on the floor, playing with one of her many toys. Dakota LOVES toys. She's not picky about her toys and she can entertain herself for a good long time with them. This girl's zoomies are EVERYTHING! Watching her run and play is a sight to behold. She's smart, too, and would love to learn with you. Medium and large dogs might be a good match for her after a proper introduction. (The Pet Connection is here to help you with that!)
