My story

Catherine is a 12 pound Maltese ready to find a great home! Catherine (along with Mary, a Maltese also available for adoption) was surrendered by family after the owner passed away in December of 2024. Catherine and Mary are not bonded and don't have to be adopted together. Unfortunately, scant details were provided about them. What we do know for certain is that both girls are young(er), were in poor condition (flea infestations), pancaked over thresholds, and were woefully under socialized.  The really great news is that they are blossoming with good care, good food and a whole lot of love! Catherine is the older (about 5 years old) of the two girls and incredibly loving although timid.  Catherine has learned to potty outside and follows directions impeccably.  She worries very much about food and will wolf her food down and search for others’ food.  Catherine needs a fenced yard and is starting to walk beautifully on a leash. She does great with other dogs of all ages and temperaments and would do best with another dog, seasoned in being loved and part of the family.  While Catherine had a mouth full of rotten teeth that were removed via a dental, she is healthy and will require a healthy diet to keep her liver values in check. Catherine is up to date on shots, spayed, de-wormed, micro-chipped and fecal tested negative. She also recently got a dental cleaning and a mammary tumor removed. We require an adoption application, phone interview, virtual house check, and meet and greet with your entire family. For an adoption application, please visit us at https://www.petprofilerescue.org or at https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1S5v9x1oGSYLBSfheZJ_zSvkIHoT3Fe_xnsq5V75IX9w/viewform?fbclid=IwAR0rU1zQezgZhhC_01_JpMFhujOq40cu8Xl4xKdiZ0b1L-3Pwm1Et-XI3K4&edit_requested=true If you have already submitted an application to us, email us at petprofilerescue@gmail.com to express your interest in this dog. We are foster based in the Chicago area and do NOT have a shelter or central location for you to view our dogs. Please consider SPONSORING to help with our foster dogs' medical needs. You can click on the "Sponsor" button or donations can be made to our Paypal and Zelle at petprofilerescue@gmail.com or https://paypal.me/petprofilerescue or Venmo @petprofilerescue (last 4 digits of the phone number are 9703) to help with our foster dogs' medical care. Our rescue dogs' Amazon Wishlist is here: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1PIG0Y2YAZ2MP

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Catherine, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
