My story

Since February, Cinco has been patiently waiting for something he’s never had: a real home to call his own. As our current longest resident, Cinco`s story is one of resilience, loyalty, and hope.Cinco and his brother Russell were deeply loved by a houseless man who, despite his circumstances, gave them all the love he could. When life no longer allowed him to care for them, we promised to take over that love and find them the homes they deserve. Russell has since been adopted, and now it’s Cinco’s turn.Cinco is an incredibly smart and spirited pup who thrives when he`s learning. Whether it’s mastering tricks, cruising through obstacle courses, or hopping on a treadmill, Cinco is always eager to work for a tasty treat. His brain is as active as his body — and he’d love a human who enjoys engaging both.Thanks to our dedicated enrichment and behavioral team, Cinco has come so far. He used to be quite reactive on leash, but through patient training and positive reinforcement, he now walks with confidence and has even made several dog friends! His play style is rough and tumble — ideal for a buddy who likes to romp — but he’s also respectful of dogs who prefer to keep it chill.Crate training has been a big part of his progress, and it’s helped him immensely with potty training too. His future family should be excited to continue that journey with him — he’s made great strides and will only get better with consistency and love.Cinco may be compact in size, but he’s bursting with energy and heart. He would make the perfect adventure buddy — hiking, road tripping, camping, or just exploring the world by your side. His endurance is impressive, but his loyalty is even stronger.What breaks our hearts most? Cinco has never known what it feels like to sleep in a home of his own, to curl up next to his person at the end of a long day, or to finally exhale in the safety of forever.He’s waited long enough.
