My story

Precious, an 8-year-old Boxer mix, has come a long way since being rescued from a lifetime of neglect. She spent years confined to an outdoor pen, severely malnourished and deprived of basic care. By the time she arrived at DDBBR, veterinarians warned that she might not have survived much longer in her condition. But Precious wasn’t ready to give up—she had so much life left to live. Now thriving in her foster home, Precious has gained much-needed weight and is finally experiencing the simple joys she was once denied. She loves zooming around the backyard, curling up on her foster mom’s bed, and soaking in the warmth of a loving home. Every day, she shows her gratitude with tail wags and affection. Precious has also met other dogs and done well, though she would thrive with a well-socialized canine companion who can help her continue learning dog-to-dog interactions. However, she cannot live with cats or other small animals. This resilient girl is looking for a forever home where she can spend her golden years surrounded by love, comfort, and security.
