My story

Ruby is a 2 year old Black Mouth Cur mix patiently waiting for a forever home with a backyard. At nearly 40 pounds, she is petite & sweet.  She is potty trained, knows the “sit“ and “leave it” commands, and is crate trained to sleep all night in the living room without a peep. She is eager to please her foster parents, and is learning to co-exist with boundaries around cats and an older dog in the home.  She’d do just fine as a solo dog in the home, or with another dog that could match or balance her playful energy as she goes through her adolescent years. She’d pair nicely with someone who enjoys an active lifestyle and/or can accommodate her playful exuberance. She absolutely loves to play fetch and receive belly rubs. Ruby was initially owner surrendered to the shelter when she was 6 months old through no fault of her own. Her foster family wants to ensure she ends up with a loving adopter who is committed to her for life and will help her be the best that she can be through patience, understanding, and consistent positive reinforcement.
