My story

** Meet Happy!! ** Say hello to Happy, a 2-year-old, 46-pound pup who truly lives up to his name! Happy is a sweet, low-key boy who enjoys the simple things in life—like going for walks and exploring new places. He’s great on a leash and while he may pull a bit at first, he quickly settles into a nice pace. Happy’s curiosity is endless, especially when it comes to sniffing around on walks or in the yard. Though he’s not super interested in toys, Happy does have a soft spot for treats, and he’ll happily sit beautifully for one! He’s a calm presence and gets along well with other dogs, never reacting negatively to them. He’s patient and always ready to explore or take a moment to relax by your side. Happy may get a little mouthy at times, but he’s very treat-motivated, which makes him a quick learner! If you're looking for a sweet, patient, and curious companion who will enjoy walks, park adventures, and just hanging out with you, Happy might be the one for you. As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines. To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
