A volunteer writes:Remy likely lived all his life with the same person. He is an elderly orphan now that his owner was taken into care. A relative fed him for a few months while he was staying all by himself in an empty apartment. The loneliness likely added to the fact that Remy was not very socialized to the outside world, to people, children and other pets. And now, he finds himself in a kennel and in a shelter environment...A terrible succession of untoward events...No wonder Remy is a bit cranky...He is slowly softening up though, appreciates gourmet food and treats and is more open to slow and gentle petting. He leans slightly against my hand and yesterday, I felt a faint purr. Sometimes, he stiffens up, like saying: you are not yet part of my inner circle....Remy is in a tough spot and is in need of TLC in addition to an understanding new owner experienced in and fond of senior cats. Will you help Remy's Lucky Star shine upon him? He is waiting patiently at the Manhattan Care Center. What my friends at ACC say about me:My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!I am a sweet, shy, older gentleman, looking for the perfect forever home!Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them. Primary Color: Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 9.2 Age: 13yrs 1mths 1wks
