Listen up, my furiends! We are on a mission to help our long-term Scruffy Paws residents find their furever families, and we are starting with an "OG" - Baby! Baby - the longest resident of Scruffy Paws. 2,005 days!!! Baby is approximately 8 years old and a whopping 17lbs! He's basically a turkey. Baby originally came to us when we were trying to assist with a small hoarding situation. These cats were well taken care of but not very social with people, and, of course, they were not spayed/neutered. Initially, the plan was to spay and neuter these cats and give them back to the owner. But when we attempted to give them back to the owner, she no longer wanted them. And there you have it - seven undersocialized adult cats with nowhere to go. At that time, being a small rescue with very little space, this was a significant burden on us. Luckily, over the years, the others all found homes. Baby has definitely come a long way since his arrival. His foster mom can pet and pick him up on occasion. He does well with other cats. He did have a urinary blockage a few times and received PU surgery because of this. He needs to be on urinary food for the rest of his life. He would do best in an adult-only home or with respectful older children. He is not a lap cat, and it is very much on his terms. However, in the right home setting, Baby has more potential! We totally can handle him for his vet visit. He will need patience and understanding when he goes to a new home. Cat or cats in the home are a must. On occasion, Baby can be a bully with submissive cats. He does exceptionally well with cats who can hold their own. No doggies for Baby! He needs stability and someone who is settled where they are for a very long time. Baby's adoption fee has been sponsored but please note the adoption process still applies. And Scruffy Paws will provide 12 months worth of his prescription food to his new owner. Baby needs a home and family of his own. 5 years is just too long to be without a forever family. Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If you see this post, we are still accepting applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). Please refrain from emailing us regarding availability. All adoption fees include: ✔️ Spay/neuter surgery ✔️ Microchip ✔️ Rabies and distemper vaccinations ✔️ Proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing ✔️ Flea treatment & deworming ✔️ A veterinary exam 🚨 Please Note: Our shelter operates by appointment only and is not open to the public. Many of our cats and kittens are in foster homes. An approved adoption application is required before scheduling a meet-and-greet for the safety of our fosters and adopters. 🐾 Ready to apply?
