My story

This is JITTERBUG! He’s in New York and ready for a meet and greet with any potential adopter! He is 7 years old and 14 lbs. However,’ his energy level is much younger! He’s younger physically and mentally. We think he’s a chihuahua mix maybe with a terrier based on his looks. LOOK AT THOSE EARS! They are like solar panels! He’s so adorable! He is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, fecal/4dx negative, microchipped, and on preventatives. Jitterbug’s story is common in Puerto Rico. The family who had him was moving and didn’t want to take him with them and so surrendered him to the rescue. He had been chained up most of his life in the backyard but our rescuer used to see him and give him treats and befriended him. Given his depressing beginning, she says he is soooo friendly and happy. Just a wonderful dog with a lot of spirit and happiness! His tail is always wagging, hence the name Jitterbug! He has a heart of gold—happy, sweet, easygoing, incredibly gentle, and loving with everyone he meets. He adores being petted and is happiest when he’s by your side, enjoying some pets. He’s well-adjusted and has shown he can quickly adapt to new environments. He is medium energy and has a balanced energy level. He’s lively and playful when you’re up for it but is just as content to settle down and relax when it’s time to unwind. After some good exercise, he’s perfectly happy to curl up and relax by your side. He’s very enthusiastic on his leash walks! He loves his walks. He gets along with dogs of all sizes. He would also do great as the solo dog in the home since he loves people. He is good in a car and doesn’t get car sick. He’s not a barker, only when he sees something he considers “strange”. He is house-trained and crate-trained. Feel free to email us: MiraclesforSatosRescue@gmail.com _______________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog, exact age or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopters home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt JITTERBUG in NY to meet!, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
