My story

Hilda is a petite 1-year-old brown tabby who came to us from local animal control. She is a sweet girl who enjoys pets, but it does help to let her know you are there before petting, as sometimes going straight for pets can surprise her. Hilda is a special needs kitty with balance/coordination issues likely due to ataxia secondary to an infection she had which we treated her for. She is a bit wobbly and has some awkward movements very typical of cats with mild cerebellar hypoplasia. She is able to eat, drink, and use the litter box on her own, but sometimes can be a bit messy with her litter. Hilda doesn’t seem to mind the other cats, but due to her balance/coordination issues can struggle to get away or defend herself in the way most cats do, so any cat friends would need to be friendly and gentle. She does use the cat trees and hammocks, she just takes her time getting up and down, but they are her favorite nap spot!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hilda, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
