Please contact Ann Marie Burns (AnnMarieB@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.a sweet love bug!!! DALIA NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Dalia and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (05/04) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria, VA (3351 Richmond Hwy, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Dalia Best Guess for Breed: Terrier, Lab Mix Best Guess for Age: 4 years old as of December 2024 Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 50lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! Dalia has also lived with cats and has done well. Currently Living At: D.C. area foster home. Check out this video of Dalia: https://youtube.com/shorts/dLUQxnxoLoA. Dalia is Looking For: Dalia was an amazing mama to her puppies Dasher, Dakota, Darlene, Donatella, Darcey, Donner, and Donnie. They all went off o their forever homes and now she's looking for her own. She is a sweet girl looking for a loving family to give her lots of snuggles and kisses. She would love long walks and fun times at the dog park enjoying other pup friends. Most of all - Dalia wants a cozy home with a family all her own! What My Foster Said About Me: Dalia has been lovable and sweet! She has really taken a liking to being in a home and sleeping on a comfy couch and her own bed. Dalia is a love bug! She loves to be around her people, and follows me from room to room. After walks or playtime, she is happy to relax in the house. She loves to cuddle and nap, but she also likes to play and romp. She has been a great house guest: she sleeps peacefully through the night (though she prefers the couch to the crate!). Dalia is a wonderful pup who would make an amazing addition to any family or home! Medical: Dalia is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs. All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care. After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months. Dalia has completed the treatment and activity restriction phases, and is awaiting her 6-month follow up test! Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
