My story

MONTY 💕💕 "DO YOU LOVE WIENERS? Well, then, Monty would love to meet you! Monty is a miniature piebald dachshund at approximately 12 lbs. He is 100% the definition of a dachshund. If you’ve ever had a dachshund before, you know what we mean. If you have never had a doxie before, but you like a bit of a challenge, then Monty is your guy! Breed experience is preferred! Monty’s favorite thing to do is to cuddle up with you on the couch or in your bed. He will sleep in a crate at night but would be happiest in bed with you. Cuddling with a nice, lazy, warm sausage dog sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Well, that’s not all Monty has to offer! When he gets excited, he has enough energy to charge your phone, and possibly your solar panel generator. 🤣🤣 Monty has no formal training, so he’s classified as a wild bratwurst (heavy on the “brat” at times). In true dachshund fashion, he loves to kill squeaky toys, bark at strangers, and will seek vengeance from anything he finds mildly irritating. (He had a run-in with a feather duster over the weekend, and the feather duster, sadly, did not survive the incident.) He loves to parkour off of couches, chairs, and tables and hop on his hind legs like he's a 4-legged pogo stick, which are both frowned upon since dachshunds are very prone to spinal injuries. His foster mother has warned him multiple times about him needing to be more careful about his back, but if you’ve ever had a discussion with a dachshund before, you know it’s not dissimilar to talking to a mannequin. This boy requires ramps and stairs and will need guidance to use them in a new environment. This beautiful little weenie dog is hopeful that somewhere out there exists someone patient enough to work with him on his manners, or just someone who just doesn’t mind having a best friend who is quirky, and a little unpredictable with no concept of personal space. 🥰🥰 Monty is estimated to be 6 years old. He is neutered, up to dates on shots, recently had a dental cleaning!! APPLY NOW ⬇️⬇️⬇️ https://form.jotform.com/203585160919157

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Monty, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
