Gregory Gold

My story

A volunteer writes:Gregory Gold and friend Scotty Silver were found locked together and crying in a taped box near a building's dumpster. Scotty did not appear much affected by his ordeal. He probably was part of the "1/2 full glass club" and as a result was adopted in a nanosecond...Gregory is only six year old but wears the stigmas of poor care. He keeps very quiet and makes himself small at the back of his kennel. His eyes are wary as my hand moves toward him. He does not hiss, though or swat but clearly wishes for me to change my mind...Catnip, feather wands or laser beams do not interest him but Fancy Feast triggers his appetite and survival instinct. Gregory moves forward, eats with gusto the pate and accepts petting while savoring his meal. Our second encounter brought a little more trust in his mind but Gregory has a way to go before he realizes that genuine care and love still exist in the hands of giving people. Gregory is safe within our walls but we dream for him to live  a life filled with good food, love, comfort and free of harm. Will you be Gregory Gold's Good Star? He is waiting for you at the Manhattan Care Center.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.
