My story

Anyone who knows herding breed dogs knows they are special—super smart, affectionate and energetic, they need a job to do, lots of exercise or some kind of regular activity to be happy. Which perfectly describes Astro, a handsome cattle dog mix who’s been at the shelter for some time now after being rescued from a neglectful living situation. Astro is a cuddly guy and loves people, including kids, but we recommend school-age or above as his energy and play style would be a bit much for small tots. He enjoys belly rubs and treats of all kinds, knows some basic commands, and likes water. He might do ok with another energetic, confident canine companion, but slow introductions are a must. Because of his intelligence and energy, Astro is a dog with unlimited potential to be an incredibly fun pet for the right person or family—but you’ll want make sure you’re up for such a unique companion.
