My story

Penny`s Compatibility:Dogs - Meet & GreetCats - Passed her cat test!Kids - Best suited for a home with kids 15+, as she was overwhelmed by young children in her previous homePenny is a sweet, sensitive girl still learning that the world can be a safe and gentle place. After arriving as a stray, she was adopted, but returned shortly after when her new home proved too busy, especially with young kids. It wasn’t the right fit, but it gave us a better understanding of what Penny needs to thrive. She can be nervous in new situations and especially around sudden movement or loud sounds. In her previous home, she became very distressed when young children were present, even with gradual introductions. Because of this, she’ll need a quiet, adult household or one with teens who can respect her space and help her build confidence.Penny is crate trained, housebroken, and rides well in the car. She loves to play ball in the backyard, is affectionate with her people, and enjoys attention once she feels safe. Walks are still new territory, but she’s food-motivated and eager to connect, always checking in with her handler once she learns they have treats. If you’re patient, gentle, and have a calm home where Penny can take things at her own pace, she just might show you what a truly loyal companion looks like.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Penny, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
