My story

Max is a gorgeous, high-energy, 65lbs dog with a big heart, searching for a household ready to help him succeed with a structured training plan. In the shelter environment, Max has shown himself to be generally social with both people and dogs, though of course we recommend bringing any resident dogs along to meet him to ensure compatibility. Max’s personality is calm and easygoing, though he can be uncertain of unfamiliar situations and a bit shy when encountering new experiences. Due to Max’s jumpy and mouthy habits and how he would appreciate space while eating or enjoying a high value treat or toy, he must go to a home with only adult humans. Due to Max’s energy levels and specific needs, he is not suited for apartment life and will need a house with a fenced yard. You can take this pet home to try it out! Interested? Come to the shelter any time during open hours and talk to one of our Customer Care staff!Be sure to check the “shelter information” box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours!
