My story

Fossil is 4 years old and came to KC Pet Project as a stray, so we don`t know a lot about him. One thing you can’t help but notice is his big smile. He is walked by volunteers and joins morning playgroups. Fossil will play fetch and after some play time he will come get some pets. He has been overwhelmed in the shelter and is a little shy with new people. Once he feels comfortable, he will flourish. Fossil recently went on a dog day out and this is what they had to say, `Fossil and I went for a hike & spent the afternoon wandering around the trail. Fossil is such a good, loving boy! Whenever I would sit down, he’d lean his whole body up against my legs or would sit in my lap!`On another Dog Day Out here is what they said, `Fossil is ready to be your MVP. He is a sweet, silly and very lovey companion. On a recent day out he visited a park and calmly observed kids and other dogs from a distance. He got to watch KC Royals highlight videos and he said Salvador Perez is his favorite player. He would love to slide into your home, curl up on the couch and watch all kinds sports. He is food motivated and ready to be coached so he can improve his leash skills and learn new tricks.`An another one, ` Fossil and I started our day at Loose Park where he walked on leash very well and observed ducks, people, and other dogs. He really enjoyed hanging out in the grass and sitting by the water. We then went to UMKC where we met some people who gave Fossil lots of scratches. He did great meeting new people! After UMKC we took a rest break in the car AC where Fossil snoozed in the backseat. After a quick rest we headed over to Thompson Park and Fossil really started to show off his leash walking skills, as well as showing he can be redirected from distractions (squirrels). He’s so smart and food motivated! We finished the day with a pup cup and Fossil rested his head on our shoulders as we drove back to KCPP. Fossil is such a sweet boy and did very well during his day out!`Fossil would love to meet any potential canine siblings! Our staff will carefully handle all dog-to-dog introductions at the shelter to ensure a great match. Feel free to bring your pup along when you come to meet him!He has been neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.His ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED!
