My story

  Boston Cream AKA Henry was found with another dog outside of a tire store and picked up by Animal Control in Georgia. Even though he has started his life as a stray, he is an absolute Lover Boy with a calm demeanor and a willingness to be the best for you. This quick minded gentleman can learn on the fly and loves to impress you with his brilliance.  Although he is calm, he still has a playful, energetic side. He immediately took to the resident pup as soon as we arrived home and within 24 hours they were best friends. He is a shy boy and needs a confident dog already in the home to show him that new people and things are safe. If you are looking for a strong, protective and composed man who will love you unconditionally then look no further. He is impossible to not fall in love with when he looks into your eyes. He stays composed when we walk by reactive dogs on the street and does brave things (like going in the elevator) even though he is a little unsure. He follows me from room to room to keep an eye on me. This is a true man of the house! I am just so impressed by how smart, loving and calm he is.  Boston Cream will sleep in his crate but honestly loves sleeping on the floor so I keep the door open because he's a man that prefers options. He is fully potty trained. He does shed so he will need to be groomed to keep his lavish fur maintained. He does seem to be a bit apprehensive of men, but not all of them. He comes around with slow introductions and treats. Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): His energy level is around a 7. He is always up for a walk or playing with his toys, but just as content to lay next to you and watch a show.Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: He's fairly quiet but will bark if he hears someone at the door.Walking Manners: With consistent leash training he stopped pulling as much and has learned to walk nicely next to me. I can take him and my dog out together now without issues. He is so excited to discover this whole new world and he wants to see everything, but listens very well as long as you are consistent with him.Appetite: This growing boy has a great appetite and is a lover of all treatsHe has a bit of separation anxiety when I take my other dog out without him, but does calm down after a minute or two.  Favorite Things: Blueberries, bananas, cheese, whip cream, bones, tumbling around with other dogs, chewing on stuffy toys, peanut butter, chasing balls, compliments and ear rubs, long hikes, dancingCommands/Tricks: So far he knows "Sit" and "Lay Down". He also taught himself how to unlock and open the door! ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
