My story

My Foster Writes:Blanca is a sweet-tempered kitty but is very firm about needing her own space! She will make her own if necessary, probably under your bathroom sink. If you are patient and friendly, she's open to pets and scritches and will greet you with cute little trills and meows. She'll also be open to playing with shoelaces and anything she can bat around. She tolerates other cats but will not let them push her around!A volunteer writes:Blanca is a pretty tuxedo who seems to have grown roots at the back of her kennel(although lately, she can be seen at her window, hiding under a blankie-see picture). She is a super shy gal who chose hiding to avoid the "unknown" that has invaded her life. Blanca was part of a large group of working cats "watching over" a warehouse. She was even born there...The business closed down and the kitties arrived little by little to the care center where they were all adopted or rescued. Blanca was the last one to be brought in. Her previous owners describe her as a very timid feline with strangers but a very friendly and playful one with her housemates.  She would be a quiet and easy going cat, occasionally playing with her human family. Blanca does not hiss or swat when approached. She just shrinks slowly and backs off. She hears my soft words and accepts my caresses but I know she will need time and patience before she finds her balance and place in a new normal. Blanca is not an outdoor cat but one who has not known the usual life of a housepet. She is a good and sweet little gal who needs to be given a chance at a new lifestyle in the hands of an experienced and patient new owner.Come and meet her very soon at the Manhattan Care Center.Blanca tolerates attention and petting but appears to be moderately fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that she go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: White Weight: 10 Age: 8yrs 2mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Blanca, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
