My story

Huey’s story almost ended too soon. He was saved from euthanasia at an overcrowded shelter and now, every day is a second chance — and he’s learning just how beautiful life can be. Huey is a sweet, sensitive soul who’s looking for a patient, loving home to call his own. New places and new faces can be a little overwhelming for him at first, but once he feels safe, his goofy, affectionate personality shines through. He’s incredibly eager to please and very food motivated (especially if string cheese is involved!). This handsome boy is crate trained, house trained, and knows “sit,” and he’s working on “paw” with his foster mom. He would love a family willing to continue guiding him with kindness and consistency as he grows into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be. Huey has medium energy — he enjoys playing but is just as happy curling up for a cozy snuggle. He’s the ultimate living room sidekick, always ready to be near his people. He would thrive in a calmer setting (he much prefers the quiet of the suburbs over busy city life) and might be happiest as the only dog, so he can soak up all the love and attention he’s been waiting for. With his bouncy ears, big soulful eyes, and milk-chocolate coat, Huey is pure charm — but it’s his gentle, trusting heart that will truly steal yours.
