My story

Since leaving the Devore shelter, Meatball has been a very good boy who's learning pretty quickly that his new life doesn't require him to be fearful or worried.   He loves to lay next to you and cuddle and sometimes when you're standing next to him, he'll stand up on his back legs and want to place his big front paws up on your thighs to get scratches and pets.  He's receptive to being told no when it's not welcomed as well. Meatball is very social when he is out and is well liked by all who see him.  He's generally unreactive to other dogs but has shown some dominant behavior when another dog barks or gets reactive towards him.  Meatball gets a 5 star rating for how good he is in public spaces.   Small children are not recommended with Meatball, he's clearly built like a bulldozer and still needs to continue to acclimate to a better environment.  We are recommending adults only or older teens. His foster has another female bulldog who's typically not very accepting of other dogs, and while this could be an instance where him being a male helps, we believe it's also his carefree calm energy that helps them get along.  His fosters say they haven't necessarily had him one-on-one with other males, but he's been out and around, with male and female dogs, unless the dogs are reactive to him,  he's been totally chill. Meatball is a sweetheart! He is house trained, neutered and up-to-date with all his shots!  With time and love he will continue to be more confident in himself.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Meatball, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
