Sandpipers are part of a large family of shorebirds or waders, which is an ironic name for a dog living in the dry Tucson desert! This sweet boy was found wandering near a local school back in January and was lucky to find a foster home shortly after heading to PACC. In his foster home Sand Piper was house and crate trained, loved people, and loved to play. Here’s what his foster said are his main priorities in life: - Snuggling- Playing with toys or engaging in a lively game of fetch- Enjoying a car ride or game of fetch- Napping We’d say Sand Piper has his priorities in order! Just like the bird he’s named after, Sandpiper is curious and always ready to explore- in fact, he’s also a day trip favorite! Here’s what a few of his friends have said:“Sand Piper saw other dogs and he did really well. He saw kids and was excited and happy. He loves water and wanted to go and swim so bad. He saw ducks and did really well. He is a lovely boy and would do great with an active family.”“Sand Piper is very laid back and loves pets and hugs. He loves to be in the car. He loves to play outdoors.”“Sand Piper loves playing with toys on his own. He is also learning new commands such as `drop it` and `sit.` With treats, he learns pretty quickly.”During a brief adoption Sand Piper was described as affectionate, playful, a bit of a couch potato, and always by his people’s side. Sand Piper has been playful when meeting other dogs in playgroup and would like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Ask to meet him today!!
