Checkers

My story

Checkers is a one-year-old beagle that weights 20 lbs. He is very sweet and playful, squeaky toys are his favorite toys, he gets along well with fosters siblings, and he can gently steal foster siblings toys to pile them up in his bed. Checkers is glued to one of his foster brothers, so he will need a canine companion. Checkers is still skittish, but he is sweet caring boy once you get to know him. Checkers is potty trained and will go in his crate with a treat but after he realizes that foster mom has left, he will start crying and he is loud. Checkers is not leash trained, won’t move at all on leash (he wasn’t walked or socialized where he came from) he needs to go with patient people that is wiling to work with him (no apartments, sorry as he currently won’t walk on leash so you wouldn’t be able to potty him). He sleeps on his bed in foster mom bedroom or where foster siblings sleep (he follows them all the time) and he sleeps thru the night without problem. Checkers is heartworm positive and undergoing slow kill treatment. Checkers has a heart full of love and would make a wonderful companion to your family, he will be worth it!
