My story

Meet Happy! 🐾 Happy is a 5-year-old, 18-pound terrier mix with a heart full of love and a yearning to please. Though she may be shy at first, her tail-wagging enthusiasm shines through once she feels confident and secure. When Happy feels comfortable, she truly lives up to her name, radiating joy and positivity. This sweet girl thrives on positive reinforcement and is eager to earn your approval. However, she can spook easily and becomes frightened by negative gestures or harsh tones, so a patient and understanding home is essential for her continued growth. Happy has made great strides in playgroups and adoption events, becoming more social and even learning to enjoy playtime with other dogs. While she gets along with her canine companions, her timid nature makes her best suited for a home without young children. Found as a stray with another dog in the hills, Happy has learned to take her time when approaching new situations. She loves schedules and routines, which help her feel secure and confident. A home with another confident dog around her size would be ideal to show her the ropes and help her continue to flourish. Happy enjoys playing and will gladly entertain you with her fun antics, but she’s equally happy to relax on the couch by your side. If you’re looking for a sweet and loving companion who will blossom with a little patience, Happy might be the perfect match for you! Ready to meet Happy? Click the Adoption Application button below her bio on the rescue's website to get started, and one of our adoption counselors will be in touch! Here is the link - https://www.smallbreedrescue.org/Home/AnimalDetails/13547 Please Note: Due to home introductions as part of the adoption process, we can only accept applications from individuals in or near San Diego County, California at this time.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Happy, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
