My story

Caldwell is a four-year-old tan pit bull who was found as a stray in a harvested cornfield. Despite his uncertain past, he has shown himself to be a friendly and energetic dog who thrives on human interaction and outdoor activities. Caldwell’s enthusiasm for life is evident in his playfulness, but his leash manners need improvement. He is a strong puller and can become fixated on the leash, making redirection difficult. An experienced owner who can commit to structured leash training will be best suited for him. While Caldwell has no aggression toward people, he does exhibit dog-related aggression when separated by a fence. For this reason, he would do best as the only dog in the household with an owner who understands how to manage his interactions with other dogs. Caldwell is looking for a dedicated adopter who can provide an active lifestyle and continued training to help him reach his full potential as a well-mannered companion.
