My story

Meet Caboose Caboose is extra special! Caboose came from a feral colony. The cats were being TNR'd (trap, neuter, released). But when Caboose was found in his trap, something special happened. He meowed. Meowing is a behavior that is learned through socialization with humans, and since feral cats have not been socialized to humans, they have not learned to meow as a way to communicate. The Good Samaritan that was trapping these cats called Sunny Sky's immediately to let us know they found a kitten that wanted to be domesticated. We took him in. There was no doubt he was scared. He watched us for days with the widest eyes a kitten can possibly make. His foster family took him in with open arms and within days Mr. Caboose was making biscuits and cuddling with his human foster family. Every once in a while, he still will get spooked. But every day is progress, and he is getting more confident and loving by the day. Caboose DOB is 08-29-24. Caboose has been socialized with dogs and cats and does fantastic. Want to meet Caboose? Start the application process here: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SSAR/Cat The adoption fee for Caboose is $149 and includes Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Pyrantel deworming, Frontline flea treatment and routine vaccinations (excluding rabies). For other questions on our dogs/cats or shelter please send an email to info@sunnyskysshelter.org for information on a meet and greet as well as application procedures.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt CABOOSE, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
