Maverick II

My story

Maverick II is about 4-years-old.  Maverick's life was saved by a very kind and caring vet and their office staff.  Maverick was brought to the vet by his owner saying that her other dogs attacked him so she just wanted him to be put down.  He had bite marks on his head and ear with a good laceration on the top of his head.  The vet said they could not put down a dog who was healthy and sweet as could be because of that.  The owner refused treatment and insisted on euthansia.  After begging and pleading by the office satff and the vet, the owner told them they could have him.  Needless to say, this awesome vet went to work, fixed his injuries, neutered him and gave him all of his shots.  The office staff cared for him and one of the gals took him home until they found us. When Maverick came out to us to be temperament test, he was a bit reserved at first until he recognized he was safe.  Then the next thing he did was love and give kisses to our folks.  Maverick has the sweetest and kindest heart and soul.  There is not one thing about him that is anything but awesome.  He loves to play fetch and loves being outside with his family.  His "office mom" said he loved her 3-year-old son and was so good with him.  His foster mom now says the same thing.  He sure does love his little "hoomans".  He seeks them out to love on them and to play with them.  He's not a big fan of baths but loves to be brushed.  We are so thankful for the love of this vet and staff for giving Maverick the chance to have the life he so deserves. All Lani’s Lucky Shepherds receive an individual examination by a local veterinarian, are current on vaccinations, spay or neutered, microchipped, and tested for heart worms and other intestinal worms and parasites. All incoming dogs receive Drontal Plus de-wormer or its equivalent as an extra precautionary step to go above and beyond to keep our rescued dogs healthy. We feed our rescue dogs high quality dog food and supplements while they live in our foster homes. All these costs are paid for by our rescue. You won’t have to pay for these normal costs or bother with the headaches of having to take your new dog to a vet for all these procedures. We strongly suggest that you complete the adoption application process before choosing a dog from our web page. Most of the dogs on this web page will have approved adopters already looking at them. We get new dogs on a regular basis. The application process can take a couple of weeks depending on your schedule. You will have access to all of our available dogs once you are approved to adopt a rescue dog. Please visit www.luckyshepherds.com for more information.
