Meet Chevy! Chevy was surrendered by his owner to Los Angeles Animal Care and Control-Lancaster Shelter for unknown reasons. We scooped this handsome guy up on January 14th to become a Frosted Face. Chevy is 11 years old and weighs 47 lbs. He is a sweet, gentle, easygoing guy who gets along well with other dogs. Chevy has been a wonderful companion on outings with volunteers—whether it's a trip to the beach, a walk in the park, dining at restaurants, or even running errands together! Chevy is currently enjoying an extended Frosted Fling, and we’re so grateful he’s receiving the love and care he seems to have not received for years. His Fling Mom shared this heartwarming update: "Looking at Chevy, it's pretty clear that he has been through a lot in his life. He arrived at Frosted Faces Foundation in sad condition with a lot of missing fur and a big pot belly among other ailments. In spite of that, he is one of the sweetest dogs we have ever known. He is quiet, gentle, and unassuming with a calming presence. He asks for very little and is grateful for what is given. He seems so happy simply to be included in the family. His big, loving, brown eyes will just melt your heart. We've decided his face looks a bit like a baby kangaroo. Thankfully, he's receiving wonderful vet care and good meds. His fur is coming back nicely and his pot belly has significantly decreased. He has teeth cleaning and mass removal coming up, soon he will look even more dapper! Chevy is a lovebug. He will give gentle kisses to anyone who allows it, dog or human. One of our dogs has started kissing him back. It's so sweet! He absolutely adores cuddling, too. He will happily share his bed with another dog or two of any size. Having close contact and affection brings him bliss. That and eating are his favorite things. He's a total foodie. Chicken, cheese, bananas, veggies (even lettuce!) all get scarfed down with the same enthusiasm. It makes giving his meds a breeze, just put them in something soft and edible, they will be gone in a flash. Chevy is a homebody. Lounging on a fluffy bed is his main idea of fun. Our pittie girls also showed him the joy of basking in the sun. He joins them for a while each day then naps in the shade while they continue to bake. Walks are fine if they're short, slow, include treats, and allow for breaks as needed. He likes them best if one of his doggie friends takes the lead. He gets a cute little pep in his step trying to keep up with them. The car is fine for a nap, but Chevy would be just as happy to do that at home. He does need a little help getting in and out, but he's good with that. At the destination he's happy to hang out with his people. His favorite so far was the beach. He had fun exploring, meeting other dogs, watching them play, and then napping. Chevy thoroughly enjoys the company of other dogs and he tells us he would love a home with at least one cuddly canine companion." Chevy is so deserving of a forever home where he is a cherished family member. If you have a spot in your heart and home for this sweet boy, please email placement@frostedfacesfoundation.org to schedule a time to meet him!
