My story

Name: CastorAnimal ID: A860459Age: 4 monthsWeight: 22 lbsAbout: Castor came to PACC as a stray with URI symptoms. He is a very sweet puppy who has test positive for Distemper Virus. Distemper Virus is not contagious to adult, vaccinated dogs, and no harm to people/other pets. Castor currently has no symptoms and would like to recover in a home from the virus as shelter stress can often worsen or cause symptoms to start. Castor came in with his brother, who has found foster placement, and they did very well together. Castor can be retested in three months and if negative, would no longer be contagious and needing to be isolated. The virus can cause symptoms such as GI, neurological and physical abnormalities which can be discussed with PACC staff upon fostering and occurrence. PACC has saved the lives of many distemper puppies and found them forever homes. Consider saving one yourself today.Castor does well with kids in the foster home and is very smart!NOTE: This virus is coming from the community and putting our shelter at risk, please vaccinate your pets. Email PACC.medicalfoster@pima.gov with questions!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt CASTOR*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
