My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:The staff think I would do best in a home where there are no other cats or dogs.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I have potential behavior challenges that staff will address with you when you meet me.I am finding the shelter a little overwhelming, but when it's just you and me and some peace and quiet you'll see what a love bug I am.I am looking for a home with a patient person.I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.A volunteer writes: Buddy came bursting out of his den to say hello, or so I thought. After an introductory sniff that he elected to advance no further, he sat down for dinner theater. Buddy's an artist and a firm believer that dinner is more interesting when you have an audience. So, as he ate on an entirely self imposed deadline to clean his bowl, I patiently waited. Buddy good naturedly let me pet him, but stayed committed to the dinner theater role. Once he finished, I went to share some more neck scritches, which Buddy accepted before grumbling a little. Shelter life isn't easy and Buddy's been through a lot of big changes recently. He was found on his own looking a little worse for wear and brought to us to help him find his forever home. Buddy's FIV+ and known to be a friendly and talkative kitty.
