My story

Handsome HOLMES is on the case to find himself a forever home! Holmes is about 2 years old, a german shepherd mix, and weighs 60 lbs. Holmes is a "sweet cuddle bug who loves belly rub." Holmes is dog friendly (with proper introductions of course) and would actually do best in a home with another dog. Some of Holmes's hobbies include working to get out jerky treats stuffed in kongs and chewing on elk antlers or a good cow ear. Scratching behind the right side of his head is his spot and gets his back leg moving. Holmes is absolutely stunning in real life. He has benefited from training, is super smart, and motivated to make YOU happy. He did find the city to be a bit overwhelming, and he does much better on quiet walks in the suburbs, with his canine friends, or will make a great hiking buddy! Poor Holmes was found running around in the street with another dog (presumed to be his sibling), who was aptly named Watson. Both went to the over crowded and chaotic city shelter and Watson was adopted fairly quickly, leaving poor Holmes behind, lost without his brother, and sadly being put onto the dreaded At Risk list. Thankfully, Holmes survived because of a wonderful foster. Now Holmes is in Berks County, PA being his amazing self every day while he waits for his forever home. Holmes has just been through so much in his short life, but really is a good boy inside - we just know in the right home he will crack his own case and be a wonderful companion! Holmes is house trained, fully vetted, neutered, is microchipped and ready to curl up with you on the couch!
